Scott O’Gorman - Gila River Cares

Scott O'Gorman is a seasoned hospitality professional with over two decades of experience in the industry. Throughout his career, he has worked in various roles and locations including Boston, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York, and Arizona where he is currently the General Manager of Wild Horse Pass, a Gila River Resort & Casino. In a recent interview, he shared some of his insights and experiences he’s had as a leader in the hospitality industry.

One of the things that Scott discussed was the addition of technology in the hospitality industry. While he acknowledges that technology has made many aspects of hotel and resort functionality more efficient, he is careful to make sure it does not outweigh the human touch that makes the industry so special. In his view, the priority should always be to make guests feel welcome and taken care of through any means necessary.

One of the things that Scott emphasized in the interview was the importance of valuing and taking care of team members. He praised his current employer, Gila River Resorts & Casinos, for their generosity and support of their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. In his view, happy team members lead to happy guests, and he believes this is what makes Gila River Resorts & Casinos, and his location at Wild Horse Pass, stand above the competition.

While he acknowledges that the industry can be tough at times, he remains passionate about the work and is dedicated to providing guests with the best possible experience. He loves what he does and looks forward to many more years in the hospitality industry.
